WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH YOUR DAY IN SPACE?
We were delighted to support My Day in Space, a children's art event presented as part of the cultural program accompanying The Overview Effect exhibition during Berlin Art Week 2026.
Drawing on the exhibition's themes of wonder, interconnectedness, and imagining new possibilities, the event invited children aged 12 and under to envision their own day in space. Participants created artworks depicting how they might spend a day in and around a space station, which were then submitted to the European Space Agency (ESA).
The children’s event was part of the larger cultural program accompanying The Overview Effect, an exhibition inspired by the profound shift in consciousness experienced by astronauts in space when looking back at Earth. As manmade borders disappear and Earth's beauty and fragility come to the forefront, they are filled with a deep sense of awe and a newfound appreciation of the interconnected nature of our world. International artists and designers explored how design can reconnect people with nature, with one another, and with our shared future on this planet. As part of the cultural program, children aged 12 and under were invited to imagine and draw their own day in and around a space station.
This special children’s activity was presented by The Foundry, Bocci, ESA, ESERO, and dieDAS, with special thanks to Lintex. The exhibition and its cultural program were curated by Anna Carnick.
